Hmm...I don't know if we are suppose to write when we are new.. but I`m meaghan , 15 years old, and though I`m very young.. I still always speak my mind & sometimes that gets me in trouble..so I thought why not join a community where I CAN argue, & not get myself in trouble for it =) , by the way I have to say this was an awesome community idea.

ABORTION!!

I am most definitly pro choice. I beleive that people have no right, ESPECIALLY MEN, to create a blanket rule for all women. There are so many different circumstances where abortion is a definite plausible option, and should be considered.

Plus (hate to sound cruel) but there are so many unwanted children in this world. Dont bring in any more.

Okay! I am a senior in high school and I am happy that I am going to graduate. I was walking in the hallway, then I saw the meanest teacher ever. First, let me tell you about Mrs.L. During summer vacation, Mrs.L was cleaning her gutter, I think on the roof and fell down. She was paralyzed but she could kind of walk but not too long so she lives in a wheelchair. I am, yes, the sweetest girl ever but I have my limits. So, I was walking in the hallway, then I saw Mrs. L making her way to the girls bathroom, she left her wheelchair parked outside. I remembered the day she yelled at me in classroom because I was applying lip gloss on my lips. I wanted to or I could have simply take he wheelchiar and rolled it outside the door so she could cry about it but I am not that cold. Should I or should'nt do it the next time I see her going to the bathroom.

this is a good idea [13 Jan 2005|03:00pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

This is really unrelated, but I thought it was important to share with you. Take it as you may.

Not One Damn Dime Day -

Jan 20, 2005.

Since our religious leaders will not speak out against the war in Iraq,
since our political leaders don't have the moral courage to oppose it,
since Bush is wasting 40 MILLION dollars on his inauguration
party...while the soldiers have inadequate armor and too few of them to
create or maintain peace in Iraq...

Inauguration Day, Thursday, January 20th, 2005 is "Not One Damn Dime
Day" in America.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day" those who oppose what is happening in our
name in Iraq can speak up with a 24-hour national boycott of all forms
of consumer spending.

During "Not One! Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money. Not one damn
dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse
purchases. Not one damn dime for nothing for 24 hours.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day," please boycott Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target...
Please don't go to the mall or the local convenience store. Please
don't buy any fast food (or any groceries at all for that matter).

For 24 hours, please do what you can to shut the retail economy down.

The object is simple. Remind the people in power that the war in Iraq
is immoral and illegal; that they are responsible for starting it and
that it is their responsibility to stop it.

"Not One Damn Dime Day" is to remind them, too, that they work for the
people of the United States of America, not for the international
corporations and K Street lobbyists who represent the corporations and
funnel cash into American politics.
"Not One Damn Dime Day" is about supporting the troops. The
politicians put the troops in harm's way.

Now 1,200 brave young Americans and (some estimate) 100,000 Iraqis have
died. The politicians owe our troops a plan - a way to come home.

There's no rally to attend. No marching to do. No left or right wing
agenda to rant about. On "Not One Damn Dime Day" you take action by
doing nothing. You open your mouth by keeping your wallet closed.

doesn't seem like anyone's too into this community anymore, so i'm just going to vent a lil bit.

what the FUCK is up w/ hiphop/rap music lately? i mean, i'm a fan of some stuff, but i'm sorry, what the FUCK is that song w/ Ashanti, Ja Rule and R Kelly? The new one? what the FUCK is that? really...is this what they call music? i'm so tired of hearing the same tired lines, over and over again. they have to repeat songs from their old hits in order to make a "song". it isn't a song. it's not even music. anyone who is into the insipid thing they call hip hop/rap...damn. must be simple minded and easy to please. and the music videos...i'm tired of seeing chicks in bikinis. i'm tired of seeing the same dance moves, and the same bling. i don't mind seein chicks in bikinis, being bi and all, but damn. put something new into your video, actually use your imagination.

write some good goddamned lyrics for one.

rapping about how great you are is OLD. find something new.

Gay Rights? [18 Oct 2004|03:43pm]

Hey all I am new...I love arguing about anything and everything..

I thought I would start out with a topic...what do you all think of gay rights? Should gays have extra rights? Or just be the same as everyone else? Should they be allowed to marry?

My opinions...Collapse )

I have started making very good money and am very comfortable in my life. My only fear being that the economy is going to crash like never before and I am going to find myself unable to pay for the lifestyle that I have grown accustomed too.

This all begins to fall under politics. Sadly I hate all the presidential candidates. But one must pick.

I cannot vote my own party (libertarian) because our candidate, I feel, has NO experience. Ralph Nadar is a joke and always has been, and I am not interested in the other dude, (I admit my ignorance blinds even me).

I refuse to vote for BUSH. He has failed America in so many ways he should be tried for treason.

Kerry on the other hand seems to be nothing but a puppet pulled out of the mist in order to stand SOMEONE, Oh GOD ANYONE up against Bush. But not anyone important because if Bush did win he would surely be capable of destroying your career forever because we all know what a spoiled ass he is.

I do agree with some of the things Kerry stands for however, according to my co-workers and family, if Kerry wins I will be out of the job simply because I am not union and Kerry wants everyone to be union. If anyone understands that statement please send me information or explain it to me because that is the only thing Bush supporters say and I don’t understand it.

When in a deep discussion with my co-workers and family they always bring up the fact that the economy will crash and us Construction workers of a small family owned business will be out of the job if Kerry wins. However they have no OTHER IDEA WHAT BUSH STANDS FOR. This ANGERS ME. I understand that your job is important but what about my PRIVACY RIGHTS? Your children’s EDUCATION, Abortion, Sex Education?

Do these things not matter? Apparently not because when I ask they seem to get a lost look in their eyes and just shrug and say I have no idea how he stands on the other issues.

Well, I did my homework class, and his stance on the other issues is so disgusting that I am willing to lose my job rather than see him in office. The last thing I want is a man in office that feels it is funny when he is shown on tape saying that he thinks a dictatorship would be easier to handle in America. Have some freaking class and don’t make jokes like that while in office as the most powerful man in America.

It’s a confusing time and I feel will ultimately decide the fate of America.

I always was a fan of Clinton. I bet you guys all miss him now.

THE ULTIMATE SILENCE
October 12, 1998

Listen to the mustn'ts, child.
Listen to the don'ts.
Listen to the shouldn'ts,
The impossibles, the won'ts.
Listen to the never haves,
Then listen close to me ...
Anything can happen, child.
Anything can be.

~ Shel Silverstein

Six years ago today, Matthew Shepard was murdered for being homosexual.

What will you do to end the silence?

Okay opening argument I suppose.

It has come to my attention that through scanning random pages of livejournal an increased amount of stupidity has been allowed to run rampant in our society. After chewing back the vomit from attempting to read past all the "I totally 4got!" and "STFU No fukin way d00d" entries I realized I never want to leave my home ever again. Now, I do not claim to be any smarter than the average person but there are a lot of less-than-averages running around these days. It seems to me, that people are playing limbo with the fine line of stupid and damn-near-retarded. Is it so hard these days to pick up a book and stop using crutch words? I don't know though.... I mean maybe there is a purpose for these road blocks in evolution. Shark bait maybe?

If everything that could in some way damage anyone's health shouldn't all goods for consumption (cigarettes, food, drinks, medicines, etc) be issued with health warnings?

Every day it seems something different is announced as being or possibly being carcenogenic or having other side effects which were not previously known due to a new study based on a different aspect of the goods in question. My current beef however, is cola. As a teenn - from about 15-17 my consumption of cola was what I now know to have been excessive, as a result the enamel of my teeth is so damaged that my teeth are brittle to the point of falling apart. There's no warning of that happening on cola (the one in the red bottle was my particular poison of choice)!

Is there anything left that is commercially produced that we can safely eat with the assumption that there is NOTHING wrong with it? Probably not.

Separation of Church and State [19 Sep 2004|08:04pm]

dancthrulife
[ mood | aggravated ]

Finally! A place that can listen to my rantings! I believe that all members of the clergy should keep their noses out of politics. When priests and bishops ect. get involved in political protests and things like that, the line between Church and State is crossed, and chaos will undoubtedly, occur. You're going to have people all pissed off because their priest, who's supposed to be a disiple of God, disagrees with what they think, and then its like the priest is saying that God thinks like he does, even though other priests may disagree, and it makes people feel bad because they don't agree with "God's opinion" and so they blindly ditch their political morals (oxymoron?) and go with whatever the priest says, just so they can get into heaven. Real life example- I'm catholic, and the pastor (head of all the priests at the church) publically went to a anti-war protest (which was just a front for an anti-Bush protest because the location of the event was at my town's "anti-Bush" headquarters) and not only went, but RANG THE "freedom" BELL, which was him putting himself out in public showing his values. Well, I woudln't have minded all that much, IF THEY HADN'T MADE THAT THEIR ADVERTISING CATCH! Seriously, they said "Come to our anti-war protest, and oh yeah a priest from the local catholic church will be one of the guests of honor and will ring the bell" or some such nonsense. Now, the problem also with them saying this is that they mentioned which church the priest was from, and, unluckily for him, most people who go to my church are Republican and support Bush AND the war, so with our pastor going to this anti-war protest, its making us all look like idiot sheep following an idiot master because he's doing something none of us would totally do. If a member of the clergy wants to make a political statement, or wants to express their views, its okay, since everyone has the right to, BUT IT IS NOT OKAY to make this person a "honored guest" just to make people to come because its going to make a lot of people very angry if it gets out. I don't mind that he says the prayer for memorial day, and I don't mind if he comes to village board meetings just to listen, BUT I DO MIND if everyone makes a big deal about it and he himself makes a big deal about it eventhough he KNOWS the majority of us going to the church in which he preaches (FOR WAY TOO LONG MIGHT I ADD..and he's very boring too..that's why I like the other priests better..plus, they agree with me :-) ) don't agree with the statements he's making which end up becoming statements on behalf of the church. Its the life he chose, and if he wanted to be more political than teach us about God and the bible, then why didn't he become a damn lawyer!?

mandatory organ donating [06 Sep 2004|12:59am]

sarahdear
alright, I want to know everyone's opinion on organ donating. I believe that everyone should be required by law to donate all organs upon death. My view is that they are dead and the organs have no further use to them. There is currently a ridiculous shortage of organs avaliable for implants and if all elidgeable people (no disease of the specific organ or blood diseases) donated theirs, more people would have another chance at life. I personally don't understand why someone would be against organ donating. Even the religious claim doesn't make sense to me--the Christian sects that are against it probably know that their Bible specifically says that the spirit will leave the body to enter everlast life, ect.

so mandatory organ donating--how could this be bad?

Hello [25 Aug 2004|09:52pm]

[ mood | smart ]

Okay so the rules seem fairly simple and this seemes like a good community to join so my question is: Do you believe in abortion? I am pro life, wich means that I believe it's wrong, I believe that if you were irresponsible enough to have sex and be stupid about it then you should go through with haveing the child. Or just not have sex at all, and there is plenty of birth control out there, USE IT. I also believe that in cases of incest and rape, it should be allowed, or if to go through with it would be fatal to the mother.
